SC400 W58 Install thread(Parts thread now progress thread in a few weeks)

This is a very easy DIY swap, so far I have done every thing by myself and taking my time. The down side is it is a very costly swap to do it right. Granted most of the parts I bought are used but, Supra and SC guys still want an arm and a leg for stuff they will never use again and the new stuff I have bought is top of the line, no adapter plates or knock off clutch components.
Bought to post up some exterior update pics. Volks, Lip and Toyota emblems are installed.

I like them better than the ones that came on my car(supra copies) I might put a layer of 3M smoke vinyl on them and see if it cleans them up a lil more. Should also look better when I get my CF hood and trunk to go with the red/black combo.
Just put some gear oil in the transmission to see how smooth it shifted. Result very smooth
All though it has a bit of a hicup going into reverse. Just applied for leave yesterday hoping to take off the 1-9 of Novmber and install this.

Being that this unit was out of a MK III, what issues will you have with the fitment instead of one out of a MKIV or SC300? I haven't been able to compare the two different types side by side, but the general consensus is that the MK III tranny won't fit because it doesn't have an extended shifter.
Is this correct? It's possible I misunderstood a few things and/or missed the explanation in your write up.

His transmission is a 95+ W58, look at the external shifter.
As of now I have a W58 from an MKIII, MKIV remote shifter assembly
Makes me think pre-'95 transmission with a later model shifter assembly.
oh wow i missed that.
Yeah the tailshaft and shifter assemblies are interchangable between the MK2, MK3, and MK4 transmissions. You just need to source that part then... which CAN be hard.

So any external shift assembly from a 95+ W58 will work? No need to be Supra or Lexus specific?
