Default Tachometer problem with J-spec 2JZGTE

I swapped a J Spec 2JZGTE into my '94 SC. The shop who installed it claims that it is not possible to have the stock tachometer read the J Spec RPM. The reason they gave me was because of analog/digital signal from the US tach and J SPEC engine.....It sounds bizzare.

I have had my tach @ zero rpm for too long now. I have been using a heads up display since.
So Does anyone one know if it is possible to have the tach read the engine speed with the J Spec.

Thanks

yes, look for R109 in threads, jump the resistor in the guage cluster and you should get a reasonable accurate rpm signal. OR you can use the dakota digital tacho adapter- thats what DR tweak sells and uses.
