Default How to distinguish a 1JZ origins..?

Is there a way to distinguish which car my 1JZ came out of?
I want to make sure Im buying the right ECU for my Engine.

I was told it was a Soarer Engine, so I bought a Soarer ECU;
but I just want to be certain.
If I could observe something that signifies its a Soarer Engine, and not a Chaser/Aristo
(or vica-versa) that'd be great.

Thanks!

Bump.. A Lil Help?
I've searched and read that Soarer 1JZ's are Rear Sump, and Chasers are Front Sump?

Does that mean that the mound in the Oil Pan is toward the
front/rear of the Engine?

Chaser 1jz is a front sump motor. If it is rear sump, it either came out of an MKIII Supra or a Soarer. I'm not sure how to tell the difference between the two though.

MKIII sup 1jz has hydro water pump which, I believe, is the same as the aristo 2jz. It doesn't have a clutch type fan like Soarers do.

Whats exactly is a Sump?
Also, does anyone have a pic of both engines' oil pans, so I can see the difference,
and compare them to my engine?
If mines a Soarer I'll be happy.

They are talking about the oil pan, stay in front of the engine and look at the oil pan where you remove the drain plug to change the oil that part where the drain plug is (is it on the front right beside the crank pulley or in the middle of the engine little bit toward the back) that's all i can think of .
Just google it and you will see the difference GL

...and if its in the front near the crank pulley its from a Soarer, and if its in the back, its from a Chaser.. Or the other way around?
