Default 95 SC400 Gas tank

Hello,

I need to replace my gas tank, its pretty much done as the fuel pump comes out really muddy and dirty. So my question is, are all the gas tanks of the sc400 and sc300 equal? Its very hard to find one here in PR. Also are there any online stores where I can get a replacement? Money wont be an issue, I just need a place to buy ship to PR. Are there any other options regarding my current tank? Thanks.

I've swapped '94 and '95 SC400 tanks. I'm not aware of any differences between the models and years, but can only swear to the ones I worked on.

OP - you cannot use 1998-2000 gas tanks that are used on VVTi engines since they are return less fuel setup and charcoal canister is on top of the gas tank .

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but wanted to ask, what about a LS400 gas tank, I've searched online and it looks like is 2 gallons, bigger, just wanted to confirm because I found in a junker an LS400 and has the gas tank that I really need. It's been 7 months now since the gas tank failed.

I'm not sure about the LS gas tank, measure it and see I guess.

After this long without a tank I would have been looking at installing a fuel cell.

@gerrb (or anyone)
What does it take to modify my gas tank back to the 97 and before setups?

I have a 2000 SC300 with a 2JZGTE VVTi/6speed setup, but starting last night when I went to pump gas in it at Chevron, I could not fill the gas tank because the gas kept coming up the fill as if it was full. It kept triggering the nozzle to think the tank was full. I also noticed i did not hear the pressure I usually hear when you unscrew the gas cap. Any ideas? I literally had to drip the gas in to get the fuel into the tank....
