T3 super 60 on a 1jz-gte. Too small?
I'm going to a single on my 1j and I'm having trouble deciding on a turbo. I have a new Garrett/Airesearch T3 super 60 that I was originally intending on using but I'm hearing from some people that it's too small. The car is my daily driver and it will see almost exclusively street use so I want to make sure I choose something that will spool up nice and fast, and I'm not really concerned with a big HP number. The shop that will be doing the tuning ran the numbers and expects to be able to get upwards of 400hp which more than meets my power goals, but would probably max out this turbo. Has anyone here run a T3 of similar size on a 1j and have some insight? My other option is a T4 sized turbo from Driftmotion that is built with Garrett internals.

As long as the turbo supports the required cfm, or more at the psi you are after
There is a 1uzfe that uses 2 x td04 turbos off a subaru running 6psi @ 2000rpm

make sure you have the correct size wastegate to be able to control the psi through the rev range

That t3 super 60 trim is too small for the 1jz, you might as well keep your twins. That turbo is good for a honda, a ebay t70 would be better bro lol. If you want a cheap turbo try and find a holset hx35 or hx40.

While I could go with the typical Supra jockey mentality and slap on the biggest turbo I can find, I'm trying instead to achieve a balance that will give me the type of performance I am looking for. I realize that this turbo is on the small end of the spectrum for this motor, but my question is whether or not it's too small to function properly.

Thanks for the input guys.. doesn't sound like anyone thinks this is a good idea lol. My backup plan which was actually my original plan before I bought the T3 is to get this kit from Driftmotion; http://store.driftmotion.com/static/...imturbokit.php
The turbo is a 57 trim T4 with garrett guts and the company seems to have a lot of positive feedback.

My power goal is pretty low. Honestly I'd be happy with anything over 350 at the wheels. My main purpose in doing this was to get rid of the 19 year old ceramic wheeled turbos as they must surely be approaching the end of their life.
