I'm not sure where this whole 95 and older tunnel widening thing came from, but it is the same size as the later models. If it's an auto, then the shifter area will have to be cut, but if it's a 5spd, no cutting should be necessary. Jeff's list looks pretty complete.

Clint....a buddy of mine just put a 2jzgte and 6speed in a 92 5spd sc300 and had to make a custom plate for the shifter area.....i dont know if you would call it a widening ...or just a modification....ya know....but even on the early model 5spds you need to modify...as well as on the auto early models.....but modification will be necessary......now just stay the heck out of alcatraz...lol

Is it the stock driveshaft that needs modification, or do you need to get a 6-speed shaft and modify it?

I could care less right now about the 6 speed, what about that WONDERFUL thing known as a limited slip..... I have hard enough time getting the power to the ground as it is. Are the rear end ratios very far off in the Supra LSD? I am sending out feelers for one today for a price quote.

the automatic LSD isn't too far off

its a 3.76 compared to our 4.10 (or something around that)

the 6-speed LSD is WAY off; its a 3.15

like Jeff said though, the automatic LSD will bolt to the stock axles; the 6-speed LSD requires the SupraTT axles off the 6-speed car

there is also a LSD for the N/A Supra; it has the same gear ratio as ours

SC3 and SC4 automatic are 3.92, SC3 5spd is 4.08, Supra auto is 3.72, Supra 6spd is 3.13. Talk to Ethan Banks about a Supra LSD, I think he's got an auto unit lying around.

I was considering doing a 6-spd swap, but think its not worth all the effort, but if I would be putting down arond 400 rwhp, then would I have to go with the 6-spd or would the 5 work, and if so where is a good place to get one for a decent price

Anyone have a suggestion for a manual transmission that could handle around 400 rwhp, besides the supra 6-spd

I'm a hair under that mark and my 5 speed is hanging in there.

I'm it the market for a 6 speed myself, but there still expensive...
