Default pumpkin install

A little while ago i removed the pumpkin to install the supra auto lsd... i installed it and now i have to put it back on the car. I am not able to align the two front holes of the pumpkin with the holes on the car frame. i bolted the 3 #12 allen bolts at the back of the pumpkin the axles are in but still these two bolts wont align... anyone knows how to? maybe do these 2 before and then the 3 allen bolts at the back??

how much out of alignment are we talking? the rear three are in rubber bushings correct? should take a small amount of prying to get it lined up... never tighten down the bolts fully... loosen em up, get the others started, then tighten them all down at the same time (assuming they are just a little out of line)

you should always install the front two bolts first and then the back 3 bolts.

the two front bolts go into the frame and the threaded tabs in the frame slide in order to give you room for adjustment. if you have the diff out you will easily see that slot and that the threaded tab moved froward and back.

btw post this in the right section. theres a performance/mechanical section for a reason

good luck.

OK Thanks, i will take a better look and try to install the 2 front bolt first and then the 3 back one... it is not always easy, by myself with a jack laying down under the car in the driveway with snow around

sorry about the post in the wrong section... I thought it was more general then performance. thanks for moving it at the right place

Get a buddy to help, I tried for a while to put mine in by myself and got frustrated, but with a friend helping hold it/move the jack around/align the bolts/etc. it went really quickly and smoothly.

I finally got out with a buddy and continue working on this but when i lift up the pumpkin, it does not go up straight... the axle on the passenger side bend in the joints and the pumpkin comes higher on this side the mount touches the frame first on passenger side then the other side is really hard to screw in... i got the two front bolts in and 2 at the back in the bushings... the front driver side one is really hard to screw because it is tilted lower on this side... i dont believe this is normal

Yes i got it in the same day or the day after, but after running it for a while my driver side axle splindes that hook in the diff just shredded away...

i replace the axle for a stock one and everything went perfect everything was straight this time... maybe i had a different axle before? I dont know if they slightly change with the years i mean the model...
