How thick is the stock tt headgasket??
hey guys, i was wondering if anyone knew how thick the stock supra tt headgasket is? and headgaskets are universal between the 2jzge and 2jzgte correct? i'm wondering whether or not to get the cometic 1.3 mm or just get a stock tt headgasket if it's thinner because i don't want to lower compression too much in order to retain off boost performance.

thicker doesnt mean better. thicker head gasket will reduce your static compression ratio as well as mess a bit with your cam timing. a thicker gasket is a cheap, ghetto remedy to reducing CR for FI use.
cometic head gaskets are made for a variety of applications in which some engines use an organic type chit gaskets. a cometic gasket is layer metal. it much stronger then a conventional gasket.
for example the 7M comes with a chit gasket. cometic makes a metal one to solve those very well known issues with that motor. arp head studs help too in that case.
