Default A list of performance mods that increse hp...

Hi everyone, I'm the proud owner of a mint condition 1993 SC400! its pearl white with a three tone grey interior... I traded it for my black 1999 Acura TL

now I have searched the forum but it has been an onerous task to be sure, i was wondering if anyone would post a list of performance mods that increase hp. I could search them for more detail but as it stands i don't really even know any key words to type in. I'm not really into racing at the track but i do like my car to be fast and powerful on long drives... Having said that all mods would be welcome, and appreciated...

Thanks for your help in advance!

All the basic mods, intake, headers and all that junk but why put it on a NA, have you searched about turbos and engine swaps? Aristo 2jzgte 280hp for 2.5kish? And Soarer 1jzgte for like 1.5k? As long as you have a manuel you can you you'r w58 enstead of the auto.

its an SC400, so I'm thinking a supercharger is the way to go , exhaust and BFI mod will yield additional horsepower without breaking the bank

I've read about torque converters and magnaflow exhaust, with resonators for me... A bfi looked doable at home... I'm not sure how much hp i'm looking for, i'm just looking to see what effects the various mods give and then decide... though i just want the car to be a bit more aggressive on the road, i wont be doing any track racing...

spending in the thousands is not an option,

I suggest a tq converter, headers/exhaust, BFI, and maybe a 100 shot just for when you need it. That should be the kind of power you're looking for.

But 400s aren't exactly my area of expertise, so I don't know how they react to Nitrous. Of Course that always depends on how well it's set up and tuned.

unless you get some form of forced induction (turbo, supercharger, nitrous, etc).. the cost won't justify the HP gains. Bolt-ons are a waste NA setup in regards to performance increases.

wait... so its not worth it to do any bolt ons? The BFI is almost free so that must be worth the gains... Man you really get differing advice here lol!

An exhaust system has made the biggest difference on my car. The stock exhaust is VERY restrictive. I made a BFI style intake too, but didn't notice much from that except a small bump in mileage.

Exhaust is usually the biggest bang for the buck I find. First thing I usually recommend is a direct flow muffler.

Agreed. Unless you are ready to rip the motor open and dig into it to stay NA and get some serious gaines don't waste your time.
