Default stock 1jz-gte owners needed!!!

i just had my exhaust done on my 1jz-gte r154 swap(3.25"DP with 3" straight pipes). and lately i have been questioning the condition of my 1jz-gte and its turbos. i have noticed that my turbos are quite loud ( they make a whistle/whine when i hit boost). scenes i haven't been able to take my car to a dyno and hook it up to a computer my only way to gauging the power i have is with other cars i have raced. my question is with my mods and the stock sc300 4speed-auto differential gear (dont know the ratio) should i be able to take a stock sti? because of the gears i would expect that my car has better acceleration then 1jz with the correct gears( if i shift fast enough). i think i should have much more power, i cant even cherp 2nd. what do you guys think? cruising in 100digree weather my cars temp runs about 180 and at about 4500 rpms my oil pressure runes 65psi just for your reference, and my car idles at about 1000rps(says my stock tach that i modded with a jumper wire bypassing a resister) i guess my question is do you think i can take a stock sti with my gears(sc300 auto) and exhaust on my otherwise stock motor. and what hp do you think i should have with my custom exhaust

STI's are AWD and lighter then our cars. They have the advantage. I haven't had a chance to race an STI but I think they would take me off the line but high end I think I would reel them in. Just my 2 cents... lol

Oh yea, when I added my DP and exhaust my turbos spooled up WAYY louder also. I don't think anything is wrong with your car.

Check your bypass valve. You may be leaking boost through it.

It can be. If you're running 3in straight pipes, then you turbos are going to be quite audible because there are no resonators/mufflers depleting the sound. But if you can't even chirp second then I think there may be something wrong, I can chirp 2nd with my stock 2J-GE...

And I'm pretty sure you should easily take an STi, maybe not from a dig, but on the freeway, shouldn't be any problem.

they whistle/whined before i put the exhaust on... it only happens at mild to extreme acceleration. not as loud at extreme acceleration. i get a little white smoke out the exhaust when i come to a stop(after normal load) not when i rev in neutral. reason i say that is because i would expect white smoke if i was just at WOT and came to a stop. correct?

A modded wrx and I were neck and neck on the highway from about 55-80. My turbos are pretty loud as well especially with the windows up. On the dyno with 3" exhaust, and stock everything else, I made 257hp, which I think would be about normal.

My make some noises too .They are not blown to my knoledge and im boosting 20 psi on them for a while now .They usually get louder with exhaust intercooler and intake .I have a v8 rear end so my gear ratios are shorter than the sc3 making acceleration insane .The only downside is higher crusing rpm's .I launch and kill stock evos sti's provoding i dont break loose.

With the automatic the car should have good launching capability . Wits 5 speed it depends on the driver .get a fcd and boost controller and you will enjoy the 1j alot more.

when my auto 1jz SC was bone stock, i'm talking stock sidemount, stock boost, stock SC300 exhaust.. i was almost dead even on a hwy roll with a friends modded EVO 8 (boost controller, bigger FMIC, & full exhaust)

after i did full 3" exhaust and boost controller, I'd walk it.

well by what you guys are saying i am much slower then your cars where stock. a evo 8 has considerably more HP then a stock sti. like i said earlier i have 3" exhaust from the stock 1jz Y pipe/header thing. i also have 3" intake with a high flow filter and the stock sc300 gears. meaning i should have crazy acceleration, provided that i shift as fast as i can. I was expecting around 300hp with the custom exhaust without any tuning. is this correct?? and another question... do you guys get white smoke from your exhaust when you come to a stop, say getting off the freeway?
