Default Crankshaft position sensor

okay I managed to get hold of an fsm and I was trying to check out my crank position sensor but the only thing I could find was what they referred to as the engine speed sensor

THE ENGINE
RPM IS DETECTED BY THE ENGINE SPEED SENSOR INSTALLED IN THE CYLINDER BLOCK AND THE SIGNAL IS INPUT INTO
TERMINAL NE OF ECU AS A CONTROL SIGNAL.

when I test the ohms on this sensor it is nowhere near the acceptable range. I'm wondering if this is the same as the crankshaft position sensor. since I can't find that phrase in the manual. If so would a faulty one be enough to keep my car from starting

Your profile shows you owning an ES300 not an SC300/400. Consequently, this might be the wrong forum.

In any event, the NE signal is the typical Toyota/Lexus designation for the crank position signal. At minimum, you have associated the proper signal with the device that detects crank position.

Default Help identifying sensor

I just purchased my first Lexus... It is a 1992 sc400.
The engine light was on and I was able to pull code 13 & 21. The sensor in the picture shows some damage but I'm not sure which sensor that is... I need some help identifying it...

Estas en el sition equivocado. Si haces la busqueda usando la herramientas selecciona solo el sition de IS250, este es el sitio del SC400/300 motores completamente distintos.
