I appreciate all the info fellas specially because I am new to this world but I have done some research on it and budget wise to 1 or 2 jz will put out way more WHP for less.... even with all the headache's of the swap... Honestly I am not spending alot on the car and I am honestly planing on parting out the supercharger and the tranny with the after market torque converter. The only reason is because I would like to have around 400 at the wheels daily... that is what I was kind of used to in my del sol so I really don't want to go under that. I know it won't really feel the same due to the weight difference but it will still do wonders in the freeway.

As for the motor...the original V8 in the car has over 200,000 miles on it and for me to make 400 whp through this motor it wold need a rebuild and probably a set of forged pistons at least and as most of you probably know is not cheap for the pistons alone never mind the kit and the money spent at the machine shop. I am not knocking the V8 I'm just saying if I going to spend about 3k on rebuilding the motor and having it back in the car why not spend 2800 on a front clip and have it shipped... right there I would be @ more HP that the V8 with the super charger and with less money as well as a 5 speed conversion.

Also if anyone is interested in the charger let me know once I begin to tear it down I will post pics so everyone know it is functioning properly.

Super Chargers:
ScottURnot (6 Speed SC400, Supercharged via M90)

KC95SC400 (Centrifugal style supercharger)
SuprRunner (M90 water cooled setup)

Lextreme (4.7 Ltr TT)....
Well being said. I have a single turbo SC400 and it has monsterous torque at low end. That's where the fun of driving is. The V8 is really awaken to be a beast when being boosted. For every psi of boost, the bigger engine gain more rwhp and tq than the smaller engine.

Please don't misunderstand me. I love the 2JZGTE due to its solid and rigid structure, plus boost friendly. There's no doubt it's a proven track or street motor. However, if you prepare the V8 right, it can be rigid and boost friendly, too. The stock V8 can handle 400 rwhp easily. A thicker head gasket is all you need. A person in Australia made around 512 rwhp with a stock 1UZ.

Usually when someone swaps in the 2JZGTE, that's when he plans to break the 500 hp mark. If you only need 400 rwhp, the boosted V8 will be cheaper than the 2JZGTE swap, or maybe the same. If you want more than 400 rwhp, let me know and I'll search for you. I have done some researches and the potential for the V8 is endless.

A boosted V8 with 400 crank hp is also common nowadays..LOL. An average gain of 16 rwhp/psi. You only need 7 psi to make 400 crank hp on the V8, with around 3 Gs.

lextreme rebuild the motor with new rod and pistons and get some custom pulleys made so you can push more pressure with your supercharger connecting rods are the first thing to go with the stock set up you cant push more than 8psi without worrying of breaking a rod you build the internals and the heads your pushing more power if tuned right not to mention the sound

Not necessarily true. 400hp is pretty modest for a boosted 1uz and could be reliably driven even on a high mileage motor. Us 400 owners would call a 200k motor "just broken in"! As long as it can pass a compression test it should be fine.

This SC400 you want is already supercharged? what kind of numbers is it currently making?
