Default new exhaust on my 1jz, i hate it.

well had my exhaust done yesterday, i was unsure about the mufflers and now that they are on i almost want to hacksaw them off..

I see people with N1's on there SC's and it looks great, i think with my wheels my car is just more subtle and stockish looking to have big cans on the back, also it's just a loud droning sound, i don't mind loud but the constant drone is horrible..

any suggestions? i'm thinking of some sort of undercar muffler like a 3" into dual 2.5" then run pipe to the cutouts with some nice classy tips.

Mine sounds like a loud 4cyl crusing right now, i'd like to have the beefy sound i had with open DP but, but tone down the volume lol..

right now i'm running 3" dp to 3" piping all the way to the split where it goes to 2.5" i'm not really worried so much about hp gains, this car is just my daily, i just want a good sounding exhaust that looks clean.

well here's a few snaps.

Do you have any resonators? Another option is to put your stock exhaust back on, get some nice tips and install a cutout.

stock exhaust with those 3' pipes would be pointless tho.

Doesn't look bad. I think I have almost the same setup as you. I have 3" from the DP, then a high flow cat, ~20 inch resonator, then it splits into 2.5" into two N1's. Maybe you could throw in a resonator. It helps a little with the drone, but doesn't completely eliminate it.
If the drone is unbearable, in addition to the resonator, you could also maybe throw in something like a universal magnaflow somewhere on the mid pipe.
I personally don't like the straight out N1 look on our cars, so I had mine angled out a bit and a tiny bit upwards. Other than that, I think it looks like a great exhaust system, and I love the burnt tip look, especially with the teal.

Cool Cool, I have the same problem...

The drone is a killer.. Everyone keeps telling me to put a resonator on. Should be able to pick one up for ~70ish, do you guys have any recommendations?

Nice looking exhaust by the way!

I have a Magnaflow one. It works decently well and was about 70 bucks or so.

Not feeling the look of the "flauta" pipes. But I bet a resonator/silencer would tone it way down and give you a lot deeper sound.

Yeah mufflers are really small. The can from the next car over would probably look really nice.

lol that's funny about the cans, they are 4" i thought they where a lil big since i don't have a kit or big lip wheels lol..

the look is growing on me a lil, i like some flashy looks on other peoples cars but for some reason i'm always really conservative on mine.

The wheels are Saleen Mustang replicas. If the offset on them is anything like the bullitt mustang replicas I had on my SC, then they probably fit perfectly.

To the poster, I'd get an exhaust like the one on the MK3 in the picture. I was surprised at how much I love my Supra single exit on my SC.

Gadget, your drone is pretty bad as well? i like the way yours sounds in the vids i thought about the bullet style mufflers for a min.

ahhyes, yeah i was big on keeping the duals, single exit exhausts do seem to sound better though..

brendon, yeah they are mustang saleen replica's. i had to roll the ***** out of my fenders to lower my car on them, rear is +22 offset 18x10 275/40/18 .. front is 17x9 +24 245/40/17

i like them, with my Lexus centers they look somewhat OEM i've had a few people think they where IS300 wheels lol how i dunno.
