Default Sc300 Debate! What To Do

Sup Pham,
I'm the owner of 2 MKIII Supra's.. I just bought a SC300... I also have everthing I need to do a 1J swapp in my Supra... But I'd rather do the SC... Question..
I always wanted a MKIV cause of the 2J.. Got a 2J now ..it's just not a turbo.. would it be worth it to mode the NA SC300 or just yank it out and drop the 1J?
2nd question:
How hard is the 1J Swapp? Can I use the current harness or will i have to use the 1J harness?
Can I use the Current Tranny or just pull it all out and Drop the 1J with tranny?

I'm asking because I have a lot invested.. I saw this SC300 for 1500 and couldn't pass it up.
Any words will help...

Congrats on the new SC300 dude! There are quite a few 2jz turbo kits around for the SCs and will likely make more power, but the 1jz swap will likely be cheaper, especially since you already have the 1jz.

As for the ease of doing the swap, there are a number of walk-throughs on this site if you run a quick search of 1jz. Other places to try are clubna-t, intellexual.net, supraforums.

good luck!

actually, going NA-T isn't that expensive. There're some turbo kits out there cost less than $3K and they make quite some monster power. I'd say going NA-T because 3.0 Vs 2.5 is a big difference.

i think you should do the swap if you have it already.

if you already have all the items to swap the 1JZ into the Supra then go ahead and finish the project and drop it into the Supra. After that you can pinch your pennies for an NA-T kit for the SC300.

Well guys .. I just got a SC300 and decided to stick with the 2J... I have a 1JZ Auto.. the harness that came with it is cut.. I do have another Harness that was just brought (extended) I have the Ignitor and Map as well as the ECU. I have the Bell Housing as well. I have 2 manifolds (1JZ CT26 Manifold Kit thats already on the motor) and a T4 still in in the box. I will be adding picks later today.
Make some offers and let's make a deal!!

I used to read it on this forum and I remember the vendor is Mark. It's here: http://forum.clubna-t.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6. You may contact that person on that forum. I sometimes saw it on Ebay. I just like to clariy that I never installed them and I just read about them a lot, even on this CL and that na-t forum.
