Default Help Please, ECU Production Date

Bought a "97" SC3 Manual ECU, plugged it in and car stalls out right away...So I try again and stay on the gas, keeping it alive. Car sounds like a old school domestic, struggling to stay alive. Unplug the Manual ECU and plug Automatic ECU again and car runs fine. Is there a reset process or a break-in process that I'm not doing?

Car: 97 Auto > 5 Spd

Here is a pic of an Automatic ECU taken out of a 97 SC3 and a "97 Manual ECU"

Based on the stamps on the ECU, I determined:

Mine: 11/20/96
Purchased one: 5/11/94
Can anyone tell me if that M/T is indeed out of a 97 or even an OBD2 ECU please?

Or is there any other way of confirming date of production? Thanks in advance.

Going by the part number on the ECU, it is an obd1 ecu from a 95. You need the 97 SC300 M/T with part number: 89661-24520
This link shows the part numbers for ECUs at the bottom when you click the year: http://www.siaelec.com/index.asp?Pag...S&Category=380
