Transmission Problem
I recently bought a 93 sc400. the only problem was that the transmission
was slipping a bit. but was said to have another 4-5 months before any real trouble..
yesterday it blew.
i know its costly for a new transmission or a rebuild.
how much am i looking at. and is there any other options ?

cost?
go on ebay and look for a trans and check price. call local yard and recyclers and ask for price. it will all depend on where you live and the demand of the car/trans and availability. the price in chicago will be different then in canada.
ebay is usually a good bench mark of parts costs. not all the time but most of the time its the market value.
good luck.
btw: it also depends if you know people. i can probably get an auto trans for couple of hundred bucks tops.
