Default 3 inch Straight pipe Exaust

Well well, i was at Midas today to get a quote on a custom exaust work.. and they are refusing to do work on the car... Because i want to eliminate the Catilistic converter, they are saying quote " that the car wont run as well, and it'll throw the idle off" is that true?
if so what should i do, i want to run a bigger down pipe atleast a 3,1/2 inch, then 3 inch downpipe back straight pipe exaust, is it doable, and if so where do i put the O2 sensor?

Of course you can eliminate the cat. It'll be a lot noisier. You should have the O2 sensors connected as though the cat is there.
