Default Optimum take off for auto?

So i was out today messing around and i was wondering

If you use the "Low" gear to take off and hold the brake to "boost" start is that quicker? but then in what rpm range are you to slap it in 2nd, then Drive?

I'm going to be taking my car to the track soon down in rockingham and wanted some opinions.

What do you guys think an SC400 with a cold air BFI, K&N filter, and deleted resonators + magnaflow muff's will pull? I'm on stock rims as well.

Thanks in advance guys

I just leave it in drive and hold the brake to "boost" to about 2,300 rpm then take off. i think shifting to 2nd and drive are slower IMO..

That is what i figured. But really can't you just go as high with the rpm's as long as you keep the tires from breaking loose? I guess that depends on your tires though.

The trans ECU will shift at 6k rpm even at WOT. The 'L' position will allow you to roll up to 6250 (stock redline).

Two things:
(1) Peak power is at 5600rpm on the stock fuel map. The farther you go into the rev range, power output actually starts decreasing.

(2) If you are able to have the presence of mind and the dexterity to shift into 2 between 6000 and 6250rpm: great. But, shifting like that, you will be risking hitting fuel cut by bouncing off the rev limiter.

i launch around.. 2.5? abuot there.. when conditions are perfect..

tires/rims play a big roll :] wider ur tires the better (in general)

this is what i do im sure it will work

right after u launch.. when it hits around 3k-3.5k i shift to two.. (with it still 100% gassed) also press that lil button behind the gas pedal.. it will shift PEFECTLY.. and not redline or preshift or w/e its called
