Default What upgrades could you do with $2,500?

I just bought a 97 sc300 with a 5 speed transmission, and i'd love to make some decision power. 350-400horsepower. Any suggestions of routes to go, if you all had to do it over again, or if you know.

I'm a Noob, but any kind suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys!

OMG a 97 5 speed. That is hotness. Go with the XS power NA-T kit (1300 shipped link), Competition Clutches clutch (400), SAFC II (~150-200 used), IC piping and exhaust made.

you could do a 1jz swap and have a good motor to start off with and you'd probably be happy

350-400hp is a drop in the bucket for the 2JZ with a snail on board. I would definitely follow what Dryblaze said. Putting a turbo on the stock motor is the quickest and easiest way to your power goals (assuming your motor is healthy).

I agree with DryBlaze, but you should have some money left over, which I would invest in some TRD sways... kill some of that body roll.

Oh yeah, and to get over 350hp you'll probably need to upgrade to 440cc injectors.

OT - put your name down in the Southwest section under the Oklahoma roll call so you can be invited when we have a meet

I'd go with bigger than 440's as far as injectors go. I honestly don't have much money at all in my 67mm turbo kit and I'm just an intercooler and piping away from having it completed. If you're patient and don't mind forum hunting you can pull deals like you wouldn't believe, if you have the money to move on them when you see them.

Yeah you can always hunt for deals as well if you can wait. I'm sure you would have money left over so just get some MKIII 440's injector and resistor pack and get them cleaned and flow tested.
