Kan any domestic tranny match with the 2J?

yeah..the th300 and th400 made by chevy i think but you'll have to buy an adapter plate and some more stuff...

Im sure you might could make it work. It would def. take an adapter plate, maybe an adapter for the splines, modify the shift linkage, custom cross member, custom driveshaft, ect...


There are several guys with the th400 gm tranny.

In theory a GM T-56 will bolt up to the same adapter plate that a TH400 would bolt up to. It's been discussed a lot, but the general consensus seems to be that by the time all of the custom stuff was made to make it work, you'd be in V160 range as far as cost.

Two things:
- If you are so set on domestic products, why not just buy a Camaro and call it a day?
- The R154 from the MKIII Supra and the 1JZ Soarer/Chaser can handle all the power you are intending to make while not breaking the bank.

I dont know where to look to that tranny....I bought up the T-56 because i have in the shop
