2500 rpm, you will hardly hit stall by than, definately dont get a higher stall, perhaps lower...

I just noticed the 4.27's. You should get off the line hard w/ that. By stall do you mean thats when the TC locks up?

the R154 swap will take the torque converter out of the equation

Sweet Mark!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to hear about how the 400 will now jump off the line!!!! Any thoughts to axle upgrades down the line? Don't know how many splines are axles have but I'm figuring that with the 4.27s AND the supercharger the rear axles could be a weak point.

Keep up the good work!!

Do you know how much power this setup is supposed to make?

With a full header back exhaust, I am expecting to make 300+rwhp at 6psi. As I up the boost and tailor the fuel delivery, I imagine that could begin approaching 400rwhp.

A Tundra's 2UZ (245 stock hp) with this same blower at 6psi put down 288rwhp. With my 15hp headstart and a full exhaust, 300rwhp should be very accomplishable at 6psi.

once your boosting, i think you and Scott should race....

awsome stuff! Do your V8 proud!!

Loving all the v8 performance mods you guys are doing, not going the norm and sticking with it. Good stuff:thumbup:

Very doubtful that 300whpish will even make the axles yawn.

I'm wondering how much WHP I'll need to beat/"run for the money" my Fathers '94 500whp Cobra Mustang.

I'm wondering how far I can take my '98 SC400 in HP. I'd like to keep the transmission in it as long as possible before I got v160.

Living in New England is horrible for performance shops.

The R154 should be able to handle 500hp+. Once you start getting over 600hp then you will need to start looking at the V160. My friend had a Mk3 with an R154 and a 4.27 and it made a huge difference compared to the 3.73. It is exciting to see these SC'ed SC's keep up the good work.

The supercharger model I have targetted is not capable of spinning fast enough to blow the air necessary for more than 12psi, even after a full racing rebuild with better bearings and a billet compressor wheel. However, in my opinion, that is why this supercharger is ideal for the 1UZ since 12psi is a lot of boost for the stock block. 500+hp is not going to happen on this build.

For what this engine build will produce, the R154 is more than capable with an upgraded clutch. I am very glad to hear that the 4.27 works well from your experience with the R154. I believe the Chaser got 4.1 gearing from the factory. So, I saw 4.27 as the perfect performance enhancement.

Mark, I am excited for you..another SC400 being FI'ed...Sweetness to my ears...:) I will definitely watch your progress....Also looking forward to seeing how your manual swap goes...

American V8's "Littering" the highways is exactly right-- perfect choice of words-- So many of those junkers are just a year away from a long life in the jumkyard on 4 flat tires with water in the floorboard--

Good luck with your build man-- I'm definitely watching this one--

I've never given much thought to centrifugal but actually it's a great idea with the inherent traction control from boosting a little later than a roots style blower--

This should be fast and well mannered-- while being nice and stealthy/quiet under boost--

Now thats what I like to hear! V8 Madness!! Its just too crazyyy! AHaha. You dont hear about Centrifugal superchargers on an SC4 that often. Cant wait to see the finished product.
