98 VVTi motor. w58 tranny. is it possible?
i have a 98 VVTi 2jz-ge. i want to put it in my 92 sc300 that is 5 speed. at first i thought i can use my 92 ECU, but then i realized i cant because my motor is distributor and the 98 is distributorless. so i was on the persuit of looking for a 97 ECU and harness. i thought it was VVTi, but i guess its not.
so is there any way that i can use the 98 ECU and use my 5 speed tranny?
would it mess up my whole gearing and response?
i know that the 98's didnt come with manual.

the motor will work fine but you will need the vvt-i ecu. The tranny will work fine. The auto ecu can run with the 5spd tranny. Do a quick search to see what sensors need to be spliced from your 92 harness.
