Default Swap idea...

Beams 3sge dual vvti 210 hp n/a in my sc400. This is the stock motor that were in altezza in japan. If turboed, this motor puts out a decent amount of hp and i it will add lightness to our over weight sc400. Any thoughts?

This engine is already putting out the same hp as the older non vvti, without turbo. And its already mated to a rearwheel drive transmission.

Didn't they use this motor in some of the GT-series Supras?

I thought I remembered that.

I'd like to see that cars dyno sheet.
I don't see a 4 banger hauling a heavy Supra very well, even if it is turbo'ed.

dont be so quick to doubt it. same story with the sr20s in nissan s15s, a 4 banger in a heavy car. but their still putting down a lot of power.

It has ran a registered speed of 197mph. That seems to be hauling the supra around pretty good if you ask me.

Well, just because it has hit a top speed of 197 doesn't mean it has great acceleration. Anyone know the torque numbers?

or better yet, the sr20 in a 350z.

The torque numbers will never match a v8 torque but I believe the turbo will help with the torque issue.

Why not go the extreme like Top Secret did with their latest Supra and put a twin-turboed V12 1GZ-FE in your SC?? Now that would be something noone could complain about...

cause ive personally looked for a 1GZ-FE, and if you can even find one, expect to pay about $15k for it.

i say go for the 3S. i think it would make the SC fun as hell to drive. ive toyed with the idea, but its not really worth it to me.

I can't seem to find any tq numbers but the car was purposelessly built for top speed. The motor sits very far back creating a near 50/50 weight distribution. Im sure it doesn't have the blistering acceleration of a 1000+whp 2jz but it should move pretty well considering its pretty much a lightweight race car. I will agree that a 3s in a SC street car probably wouldn't move very well being as heavy as it is.
