Default 1jz swap giving me the blues!!

okay 1jz heads, i have a problem with my swap im trying to figure out. i recently bought a swap and after i studied it; come to find out its a jza70 swap. now; the harness was cut going to the ignitor so i got rid of it and picked up a "supposed to be" Soarer harness. after looking into that matter i discovered its a Chaser harness JZX100. my harness will only allow 2 plugs to go in the ecu and the others may be body connector plugs some where on the car. the reason why i dont want to sell this swap is because its a low miles on it (77,458km) is there a way to make this work or am i SOL!!!

IF that was the problem. Why not re-wire the harness in question to fit your Sc's body harness... Don't give up... If anything try and find one from a Supra 93+ That 2j harness will work... You can even use the 2j harness on the 1j itself. But you will have to run a 2j ECU. Doesn't have to be a manual one. The automatic will work. In your case. I would just rewire that bad boy and your done. You can most likly just color match the wires... If not look for a wiring diagram of the harnesses.

so basically once i pull the 2j-na harness out, just mate it to the 1jz. and i also discovered that the two plugs that go into the 3 and 4 ports of the ecu are the same configuration as on a toyota camry! i had a friend at the shop point that out to me. pretty funky i think! but hell, the only reason why im sweating this is because i dont want to sweat this summer in texas! these are mostly AC plugs and pinouts.

i got the chaser ecu also. the funny thing is everything else plugs in on the motor minus where the engine harness doesnt have a plug for the back of the altenator.

my car is a original 5 speed if this helps anyone.

Han- Are you saying there is no connector for the Alternator but there is wiring. Or is there no wiring. If there is wiring. Just use your Old harness and swap connectors. IF you use a Supra TT harness your going to have alot of connectors unpluged. Thats for the Twin turbo set up.

I have had this problem twice before. The chaser ECU plugs are the same shape as the Soarer. So its easy to get the 2 confused. The JDM MKIV TT Harness is similar but the body plugs are different. My solution was to sell the CHASER wire harness and ECU. THen purchase the right JZZ30 Soarer wire harness and ECU. It took me less than 2 hours to wire up the motor with the soarer harness.

They're not easy to come by. Just keep checking Supraforums, Ebay, Jhot and Jarco. Good Luck!

That would be the easiest. To get a Soarer harness (of course). I am sure it's there the alternator harness. Maybe it's been riped out..i wouldn't know. How about some pictures of the harness. That might help. Also if it's totally not there just add it in... OR you can pay someone to do it. Give Driftmotion.com a try. In so cali they are considered on of the best with the 1j's. Really clean swaps. They did my Supra 1j and now they are doing my 2j. So i trust them alot with all the crap i am doing to my Lead Sled.
