?? about map ecu..
ok, i've searched but still don't get it, when you guys say use map ecu for engine management...what map ecu?? i mean like i'm used to honda for example i had a turbo civic and i ran Hondata S200 for my engine management instead of AEM stand alone b/c of the prices..i'm planning to turbocharge my sc300 but only looking for 400hp...anyone wanna educate me on this issue...

The map-ecu can work with the Karmen Vortex systems as well. Although it is more difficult to tune with the OBDI ecu's. Dejacky is one of the few who have map-ecu and OBDI, you can get more information from him.
And yes, the map-ecu is nearly universal.

i live in greensboro NC and im runnin a map ecu on my sc300.... im still workin out some **** but im obd 1 and runnin 9-9.5 psi on a t61 and its on stock fuel system.... holdin fine... liek i said thought its not perfect as far as ****fting and idle and stuff yet i need to ask dejacky some ?s myself

if you're obd I NA (karmen vortex), you will have subpar driveability with the map-ecu. It does work better than vpc and safc though.
I would look into AEM's new Fuel and Ignition/Timing control (~$400 street price) or something like Haltech ems (~$700). MAFT-Pro has a huge following as well. There are many options now, so no need to settle for something that will only give you a half-*** tune. Fwiw, I use map-ecu, but want to switch to something else .

i would tune my car myself before going there.... he has never done a map ecu....... mark has done some good stuff.... but hes also blown up more imports than id like to see.... .. i would find someone hwo has done alot of supras to tune your car buddy .... and honestly im not a pro with the map ecu or anything but if i could go bakc i would have saved up for some kind of standalone for sure....
