1995 Supra NA motor into SC300 ?
I recently purchased a 1992 manual SC300. My original plan was to swap a twin turbo motor in but I found what I thought was a better deal. I found an engine from a 1995 Manual NA Supra that had the compression lowered to 8.5:1 and had a single turbo kit. I have been getting mixed answers to my questions of whether or not the engine with the harness and ECU would be a direct fit. The new engine comes with the harness and ecu from the Supra.
I have heard there is a possibility that something along the lines of different voltages are used for signaling to the gauge cluster for speed and RPM in the supra vs. the SC.
I am planning on taking on this project in about 3 weeks. If anyone has any suggestions or could give me some detailed differences between the sc and supra wiring, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

same motor, different motor mounts, body plugs. Depends on how much it is, if its worth doing the electrical work. You can probably turbo your motor for cheaper, considering the base motor, the 2jzge complete non turbo is worth around $200

I realize they are the same motor. However, the Supra NA motor has a new head gasket and about 100,000 less miles. I've also been getting conflicting info about the motor mounts. Some people say they have used the SC mounts for a supra motor and others say they won't work. I got the car for 4000 and the engine for 2000. I'd say it's probably worth it. I am just trying to get as much info as I can before starting the project. Some people have said I might be able to just switch up the harnesses. I would just like to know if anyone knows the specific differences so I know exactly what to look for.

Well i figured the ge would be a pretty simple plug and play install. Also the fact that the ge had a $4500 turbo kit with the 3mm head gasket kinda led me to believe it might be worth it. I couldn't find any 1jzgte for sale either!

Also, you've got an incredible deal going for a pre-installed single turbo kit on a low mileage 2j, you can make monster hp off that. Your base line starting point for a well installed single on the 2j is close to the top end of the 1j.

the supra harness is not plug and play in the lexus sc300. Its like trying to put a LT1 from a impala SS into camaro. Sure they both came with the motor, but the harness's are different.

Thanks! I would really appreciate that. If I am able to find a wiring diagram for both engine harnesses and ECU's, I would hope we would be able to figure it out. I am looking for suggestions and information. I already know that I am stupid when it comes to this! haha...I basically have zero experience. I just need to learn how to make everything work. Thanks everyone!
