Post Putting a JDM2jz?

is putting a JDM 2JZ twin turbo in a 1993 SC300 do-able? I did a JDM STi swap in my 2001 Subaru 2.5RS and there was alot of re-wiring involved. $1500 in all to re-wire harness.i dont want to get into that again.i was just wondering if the JDM 2JZ TT is an easy bolt in swap with little or no re-wiring.

Yes, its doable. But yes, there will be some wiring involved.

A little wiring and its no big deal...

As far as swaps go, maybe a little fabrication here and there, but no big deal.

BTW, the 1JZGTE is a direct bolt in becides extending 40 wires 250+ rwhp totally stock.

Those numbers are surpising to me, but I haven't experience with the 1j. My 2jz is making ~295rwhp and 311 ft tq at 12lbs. The manny drivetrain loss is about 18%, so I'm making ~360 crank maybe. I've got some work to do, mainly the true twin conversion and some leaning out of he pig rich ecu settings, advance the adj cam gears and it'l probably jump to 360 rwhp

For a hell of alot more money I've not much rwhp to show for it if a 1j makes 250rwhp stock. I understand you can push those to 400, but probably not easily where I am, (CA) and ever hope to be legal or pass smog, but thats gonna be tough as is.

VJ RC51 speaks the truth...I made 263 at the wheels, with stock exhaust (minus the cat) and a completely stock 1JZ under the hood.

I really admire how fast and linear the 1j spools, its hitting near 250hp at 3000rpm.

My 2jz is making 275 ft/lb at 3000rpm but only 175hp, don't know how that's possible. I'd post the chart here but think I'm getting off topic, did not mean to hijack your thread, SC30018.

There is an absolute ton of info on the 1jz and 2jz swap in this forum, you can spend an afternoon reading threads, use search feature...

Thats torque.....not hp. Also note that from what I can tell, drivetrain loss is close to 25% on the stock 2JZ. That being 170whp on a stock 225hp engine, which seems to be the popular stock dyno.

Compared to the 1JZ you're doing pretty good. As you can see above, at 250 lb-ft of torque I'm making 140ish at the wheels. At that point you're up 25 lb-ft and 35 hp.

The 1JZGTE has smaller turbos, injectors compared to a 2JZGTE and they produce insaine #'s for 10psi, more then most 2JZGTE's at 10psi, and make power quicker then the stock sequential setup of the 2JZGTE.

America believes the 2JZGTE is a better motor because, well 2 is a higher number then 1, so it must be better. Also 3 liters must be better then 2.5, u know bigger is better.. lol. Wait til america starts seeing real built up 1JZGTE sc300's in the 600hp range beating supras with more "dyno" hp. The revolution has just started... All we need is someone with the bank account and knowledge to turn the world around.
