Cool 2004 Holden Monaro CV8 vs Soarer TT vs Soarer V8

Hello Guys,

I have just joined couple of days ago.

I was wondering if anyone can help me. O, 1st let me introduce myself, I have a 1992 Lexus Soarer/SC300 2.5l DOHC 24V TT auto. Well currently its running on stock everything but have future plans. I am from Fiji Islands and here we've got only one SC300 (which is mine).

I wanted to knw which stock car is the fastest in 1/4mile and overall position:

2004 Monaro CV8 or SC300TT or SC400.

Regards.
Eddy

What he said.
(actually it's more like the GTO is basically a Holden Monaro since that's the base for the GTO)

But I digress. You Soarer however can be made into a much more powerful car than the Monaro. Your TT is roughly on par with the 400 stock for stock. With mods, which are much cheaper for the 300 than the 400, you can get to the 400+ hp range relatively inexpensively.

Tahnx Guys,

On another forum, I was told that a Monaro from factory floor is capable of doin 14.5sec on 1/4mile track n on the same track, a TT would do late 13's n early 14's.

Isnt this true?

what about the SC400?

Welcome to CL

Stock for stock the Monaro CV8 (are you referring to the HSV model?) will hand your *** to you. I'm not too sure on the figures BUT if it is lighter than a VX Commodore SS it will get you. Thing here though the 1JZ can be tuned to be quicker than Monaros. And remember you're comparing cars that are 12 years apart so the condition of both engine/drivelines will vary.

There's a Monaro in Fiji?!

Well the CV8 cant hand my **** to me cauze it'll be in my 1JZGTE! My SC300 is 1600kg and the CV8 is 1700kg, stil u think it can beat the SC300. Age doesnt matter as far as I think, it is how you kept ur car and how u race ur car. What I think is that at about the speed of 220km/h one wont be able to bear the sound of the monaro but in the SC300, it would be great. We have tested my SC300 n the max speed we have driven was about 232km/h so far - it's no bull*****!!!!

Attached is my SC300/Soarer.

Theres Monaro in Fiji, Evo's n also Evo 6, RX7's, WRX(almost all models except 2005 upwards), Jaguars,IS200,etc etc.

But most important is there's only one SC300 here n dats mine.

You asked for an opinion, I gave one and you're all edgy about it.

I said stock for stock... don't worry about the weight difference. We're talking about a stock Soarer limited to 280hp due to Japanese governing regulations and the Monaro which has no regulations in place.

For the record I've gone against an XR6 turbo on the highway for some fun and got it by a car length when I backed off, but my old one was modded (dunno what was done to the XR6T).

The Holden has a 5.7L V8 with lots of torque. Torque is what accelerates a car. Like Soarer_25GTT said, if its stock for stock the Holden will blow you away.

If u sayin that the Holden will blow the SC300 away, than how come the REX(270hp from factory floor) can blow away the Holden?

WHAT? I CAN'T READ WHAT YOU'RE SAYING. YOUR FONT IS TOO SMALL!!

Tone it down there skippy.

What he was saying is that out of the box, a stock Holden Monaro is quicker than a stock SC300. It's that simple. No mods, no turning up the boost, no nothing.

(size and color filtered for courtesy, much better)

Again, torque (ft/lbs) is what accelerates a car. I don't care about HP cuz it only applies if you drive a truck for hauling a load.

I don't know what a REX is (does anybody?) but I'm sure it is faster than a SC if it can outrun a Monaro.

The Monaro is built by GM and has the same engine as the Corvette . Corvettes and Monaros and GTOs will run faster than a stock SC300. Nuf said.
