Default Problem with my SC300 staying on

I have a 1992 SC300 with 76k on it. The problem that is occuring only happens maybe once or twice a day but is very annoying. What happens is that, I will start the car it will start up, but then the RPMs will drop below 500, the car rattles then the engine shuts off. Then I have to restart the car again, and then it works fine. What could be the problem? Does it sound like a major or minor repair? I need your help. Thank You.

This happens in my camry too and I have no idea what the cause is, only difference is that it doesnt make any rattling noises, RPMs just drop to 0 and it shuts off. If you're in auto, just rev it up past 1000rpm and switch it to either reverse or drive (whichever direction you're going in) and keep your foot on the pedal for a bit and the engine should stay running.

I have the same problem only it occurs maybe once every two weeks or so. I did a search a while back and found that it could be a dirty throttle body, I haven't tried this yet so not for sure if it's actually the problem.

Just to be sure, go to Napa and get a bottle of SeaFoam. Drive to the gas station and dump in the whole bottle, then fill your tank. Run it till you are at 1/4 tank. You should notice at ~1/2 tank a major improvement.
