Default What's missing from this list? (r154 swap)

currently sourcing a r154 from a chaser

from the research I've done.... the r154 from a chaser is the same as the one found in the soarer...

now... I tried searching the list of other things I'll need and this is what i came up with.... i just need verification since the threads i found... no one verified it was correct

The following list is VERIFIED by someone who's done the swap.

- ANY 1JZ variant r154 bellhousing
- tranny mount from a mk3 supra
- front half of a mk3 r154 driveshaft (such as the one from a mk3 supra to be modified)
- ANY variant of a r154 flywheel (remember to get new flywheel bolts)
- 7M-GTE clutch or a 1jzgte clutch (of course)
- Pull type Slave Cylinder (mk3 or mk4 from a supra will work)
- clutch lines to go with the new slave cylinder
- if using 7m clutch, need 1jz flywheel.

muchas gracias dudes

your list is correct but needs a few parts. one of which is the bell housing needs to be an r154 to any jz motor. second you will need a pull type slave cylendar to actuate the clutch (mkiv or mk3 will work). get new flywheel bolts for when you install the new flywheel. and lastly youll need to have the mk3 driveshaft modified to fit. other than that i cant think of anything off the top of my head that you need. if i remember anything else ill post it up.

dont forget clutch lines. the slave will be on the other side of the tranny if memory serves me right. I just remembered i have a cut piece of the driveshaft that mates up to the output of the tranny. if you want to use that to make a custom front section with your drive shaft let me know and its yours for a McChicken sandwich and fries.

***can someone please verify whether or not the stock auto 1jz starter will work with the r154 flywheel?

which line is a must-buy from Toyota or some vendor
and which line is the universal line you get to cut and bend to your will?

Just trying to varify something. . .

prjctsc300: yes you can use all those parts and they will all work.

consynx: u wanna rephrase that? i dont follow the cut and bend...in any event your clutch line (one from the mastercyl on the clutch to the actual arm unit) you can get braided stainless lines pre-made. if you are crafty and dont mind a few metal splinters pick up the parts you need from jegs.com or something and build all your lines with ss braided.

you know what we should do too... is mention which parts are needed for which engine it will be going to...

so for the soarer... there's mainly 2 motors this r154 would bolt-up to.... the 1jz and the 2jz (gte and GE should be the same)

can anyone verify if there's anything different when using the r154 for either motors?
