Default Car won't start, could use a little help =D

Hiya, so my car stopped starting outa no where. I'm relatively sure it's the starter motor that's out, but oddly, there were no signs of it wearing out. No clicking, no poor starting, nothing. Just outa no where, stopped starting.

1) Definitely not the battery, as everything electrical comes on, works fine. No dimming in the headlights, wipers dont' slow down, etc.

2) All fuses on the drivers side engine bay, and drivers side kick panel are fine.

3) Fuel pump gives its usual buzz when the key is turned.

So, just to make sure - as i'd rather not remove my starter, only to find its in perfect working condition - you guys think i ahve starter problems?

Btw, no starter noises, no attempt at turning over, the car just does not start.

Thanks

-John

As long as you know you have nothing wrong with your battery and it is fully charged, and there are no noises when you turn the key, then it sounds like you are shopping for a new starter. Make sure you disconnect and clean your battery posts and cables to be sure.

How many miles does your starter have on it? After about 100k replacing the starter is just good mainenence, because they all seem to die soon after.

Here is a thread I started after I replaced my starter last year. It should help if you want to do it youself.

Default Thanks

I appreciate the help =D. But i do find it awkward that the starter died without giving any signs of wear. Prior to it not starting, the car started perfectly w\ no signs of struggle or fatigue. Sigh, my car has 177,xxx miles, so, it's to be expected. Still weird though. Thanks again!

It happens that way sometimes, especially with your miles. Let us know if the starter is the fix.

Uh, f!@%ck a duck. lol i got under the car today and was all prepped 'n' ready (whatever that means...) to pull off the starter; looked at it and saw that the little plug (Which i'm assuming is the wire from the key ignition) plugged into it was partially loose. Firmly set it in, and viola. Problem fixed. "Sometimes you feel like a nut...", i need an almondjoy. Pun intended.

Thanks
