Default strange sound and fuel smell at start

When I started my SC400 today there was a knock under my feet(felt like it was there) and then I had a really strong gas smell in the cabin for a min or 2..... any ideas on what it might be? my valves do knock when i start the car when its cold so im thinking it might be related. Thanks a ton!

Do you think the ECU could also be the cause of my car's surging in acceleration? how much does it cost to repair? thanks!

u can get em off ebay and other places for under 100bux shipped. Some ppl will argue with me that the ECU goes bad, but ask around locally, i gotta friend with a supra thats on his 4th this year, and both my cars had bad ECUs causing weird problems!

Well to get max performance with any fuel injected motor, its a nessissity to check and adjust your TPS voltage to the correct specs if the car is still oem. Its what tells your car how much throttle your giving the car. If its out of spec, you could be full and the ecu thinks your at 75%

bust out a multimeter and check the voltages.
