Default Help replacing a starter...

Some of you might think this is a really stupid question, but I was wondering If I could just replace the starter solenoid, or if I would have to replace the whole starter. Also, how hard is it to replace the starter? I am going to be attempting to replace my starter within the next few days, and need all the help I can get, because i'm not exactly mechanically inclined. Any help would be much appreciated....Thanks!!!!

P.S. - If anyone has replaced a starter in an SC300 and could post pictures of the process, that would be a big help....Thanks!!!!

First, welcome to ClubLexus. You will find lots of info and knowlegable people here.

I don't know about replacing just the solenoid and I wouldn't recommend it unless you really want to tear into your starter. If you replace to whole thing it is well worth the money and you won't have to worry about it anymore. Here is an old post of mine I found for you explaining my experience with my starter: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hlight=starter

Almost any answer you are looking for can be found here by searching through the old threads. When you have a question, search previous threads first, and if you can't find the answer then go ahead and post your question in a new thread. If you have questions about how to search, let me know. It is the key to finding what you need at ClubLexus.

Here are some more results that I found by using the search feature:
