Do you think most of the gains are because the first cat is removed or does the design of the Xerd header really flow that much better. I'm thinking just removing or gutting that first cat could give simmilar gains (although it would still weigh more than Xerd) and save alot of money.

The cat is extremely wide and as long as its not clogged/collapsed I dont think its that much of a restriction. Most cars dont have a cat on the stock header and they still benefit from an aftermarket header. "With mandrel bent piping, larger diameter tubing, long tubes for each cylinder, going into fat collectors, I could tell that this new header was going to flow considerably better."

sorry fellas, I live in jerzy and i will be getting these asap , the link works and they sound goooood, i think i am gonna eliminate the stock cats and go with a single aftermarket cat with a single hks carbon ti exhaust or greddy evo, but as long as the cops see a cat around here you are aight they dont really get the gadgets out..

i rock the stock exhaust with no mufflers on my daily driver (just the resonators). Some ppl like the sound, some ppl dont. I think it sounds good, and i also get 3-4 better mpg

i couldnt find any decent pics of this header install but found this great writeup, so i thought i would add to it with pics off the install to help anyone in the future with there upgrade, more of a walk through of what i did vs a full diy,
some of the tools i needed, dont forget the bricks or wood blocks for the rear,
some work gloves so you dont get your knuckles all funked up
a vise grip if your hood stuts are bobo
pull up the handbrake and
jack her up
