The "JZ" in 2JZ-GE is the engine family. The "GE" stands for twin cam and fuel injection.

The JZ is the family name, It doesn't have the same meaning as all of those letters he posted earlier. Those letters he posted refer to all of the meanings of the letters that come after the dash in 2JZ - GTE.

If for whatever reason it were 2JZ-GZE (just made this up for arguments sake) then THIS would mean Supercharged.

My '99 SC300; I kid you not has gotten a best of 28.1 mpg on the highway travelling exactly 65 mph. Well when you mix in city driving my combined went down to 24 ot so mpg at BEST; this is with majority highway driving. But normally I get a combined of anywhere from 18.7 to 19.8 or so mpg. City mileage on this thing is HORRIBLE as well as the overall mileage. I think the great mileage on this thing can be attributed to the VVT-i.

I get an average of 18.5 mpg on my 95 SC4...on a REALLY good day (right after oil change, all highway driving) she can pull about 20.0 mpg...but that's pretty rare....*sigh*....

i get roughly 19-21mpg mixed on my 95 sc4... this is with highway driving at 70mph (2500rpm) and city driving, i lightly press the pedal lettin the tranny shift around 1800rpm. i think if anything, if ya want better mpg, simple bolt ons mite help as it frees the engine up.

with a simple BFI, TRD air filter & a recent oil change I made my cross country drive from Boston --> Erie PA --> Dallas TX --> Malibu CA averaging 24 MPG.

...I think I still have the factory wires on there. IIRC, they say "Denso 1995" on them.
