Default Do you have a tranny cooler?

Are any of you running a transmission cooler?

Do you think it's a good idea for longevity of the tranny?

well i still dont have an sc yet but i have worked on my fair share of cars, but the reality of it is that YES an auxilery transmission cooler will greatly help the transmissions life and power handling.just about every automatic transmission comes with one stock, using the radiator for cooling to keep the fluid temps inside the transmission down. if you do a quick search on supra forums there are tons of threads about this and they will even point out a few coolers that many people use.

I have the transmission cooler too but didn't runs it in conjuction with the radiator cooler. Just bypass the radiator cooler. I want to know the down side of my way VS your way. Anybody have any ideas. Which way was best.

Your method should work fine. Many of us who have replaced the stock radiator go this route.
I would go with a cooler with a fan if possible. A temp gauge would also give you an idea of how hot/cool your running. I bet most people would be surprised at what temps are possible.

hello, gowest, with all the mods youve got i would prefer to get a racing tranny cooler B&M also has it, check their website, or get the bigger cooler with an electric fan that will fit your application (temp sensor, and everthing) hows bangkok this days still traffic

Hi bicol-ini, the temp sensor is a good idea, I will try that. If the current set up isn't work then I will get the bigger cooler. I pick up the tran-cooler for $10 so B&M seem a bit expensive. Also, I will add the intercooler water spray next. I assume that it might help a bit.
BTW. What is the safe temp for transmission fluid?

Bangkok traffic is still suck like usual.

hi, gowest, tranny temp should be in the 160-200 degress farenheit, for optimum performance,
