My check engine light came on and I pulled the code at it was a code 71, egr malfunction, so I pulled off the egr valve and it was clogged and so I cleaned it and made sure it was opening and closing and put I back on. I didn't see the check engine light for 2 days then it came back on and showed another code 71. What else should I do to fix this? Thanks

 

check the actual EGR probe itself, as well as the vacum tubing. Another thing is the pipe that sits inside the Y part of the upper intake manifold -- that can get clogged as well.
