BORLA mufflers only and have a shop custom weld 2.5"-2.75" piping all the way with the 3rd CAT deleted, NO X-pipe, and a pair of cutouts!

Try 2.25 inch piping, 2.5 and 2.75 are too big for an NA car. You will lose to much with that bigger piping.

What makes Borla not high-end stuff? They make $2k exhaust systems for the Corvette & Viper. They are awesome quality.......... my friend just had dual mufflers, 3" piping to factory style tips done on his na-t sc300. Sounds amazing!

Personally, I stick with Japanese parts on a Japanese car. Euro parts on a Euro car and American parts on an American car. GReddy, I'm sure of, has done some R&D that was meant for the vehicle and tested it for maximum performance, so it would be a smarter thing to go with a system meant for the car.

You can go with the Borla muffler route. Sure it might be great stuff and sounds great, but what if you get a crappy welder that screws up the welding on the piping? So you find a good exhaust welder, who does mandrel bends, flanges, etc and knows what he's doing. The cost of a good welder is $$$. With the mufflers + good welding, the total cost is about the same as a GReddy MX catback system and perhaps more. At the end, you might as well spend the money on something researched and with a warranty.

this is just an opinion obviously.

EDIT: However, if you are buying an exhaust just for sound and not for performance, then by all means choose the cheaper route.

I can tell you the Borlas are extremely quiet at idle. Even on a modded na-t. Dont really know of anyone running the Greddy MX on the SC though

I have the Greddy MX on my SC400 and Siniquezu has them on his SC300.

Nicest looking cans out there IMO...

What?!? No you wont! It provides a much better flow. If you go over 3" then you wont have enough back pressure. 3" and over is for turbo. 2.25" is too dinky. 2.5" or 2.75 with no X-pipe is just perfect!

Wow...I thought only Supra owners thought more $$ = better product!!

If it flows well with no dramatic bends, etc - get the best bang for your buck? I have a home grown, domestic shop build 5" TURBO back setup on my supra...lots of flow, little coin

Why spend more $ if you don't have to? It's only pipe.....
