Default Clutch pedal squeeking

I have a 95SC300 5spd with 168k miles on it and my clutch pedal squeeks everytime i press, i've tried lubing with wd40 and the noise comes right back after 2mins not even, and sometimes clutch pedal doesn't come back up all the way like less than quarter stays pressed in its not much, so i have to manually with my foot pull back everytime, any knowledgable suggestions would be helpful

thanks

yup my clutch goes squeak squeak too. do you guys have to use a lot of force to press your clutch pedal? mine is wicked hard compared to other cars, it makes other cars feel like their clutches are broken to me

Ha...that's funny. Same thing here, mine goes squeak all the time. Its not the peddle assymbly though, its coming from the tranny itself i'm pretty sure. I'm changing my clutch soon, hopefully this will cure it. I figured maybe it was the pressure plate or something.

Anyone else with this same problem? seems like its a common issue/problem, come on guys your input will be very helpful, just don't want to change the clutch for nothing and the problem still exists

really... my squeaking sounds more like its coming from the hydraulics, not the clutch or pressure plate itself. i need to have a second person step on it for me so i can try and track down where the squeak is coming from

Mine squeaks too but it doesn't sound like the same problem as yours. Mine squeaks wheather or not the car is on, when I push the peddle in it squeaks, then when I let out it squeaks again. Any ideas?

This thread is great, it comes out, all the 5 speeds squeak, including mine. Mine sounds as if it's coming from the outside. I'm pretty sure it's the linkage to the hydralic actuator. Probably just needs some axel grease.

Salil022:

Mine pressed down very hard too when I got the car, after I replaced the clutch the feel was much lighter and smoother, I still have the darn squeek though. I'm going to look around this afternoon and see what I find.

might also be the throwout bearing and any of the associated washers that are going out/bent

if its not coming back up you may have a larger problem. Best thing to do would be to pull the clutch and inspect all parts from hydraulics to bearings to pressure plate/clutch plate

My clutch squeeks loud, too... the seller told me it has since it was replaced years ago. I'm going to install a new clutch when I do my swap anyway, but the squeeking just seems to happen.... the clutch is so stiff and springs back so well that I don't think mine is a sign of clutch failure

i was suprised how stiff the clutch was...i expected to be stepping on a marshmallow when I first drove the car. It's even stiffer than my S2000's clutch.
