1UZFE Raised Redline? Anyone above OEM?
I think i've heard of someone raising the redline of thier post '97 1UZFE from 6100 to 6500. I think it was a Lexus "special" project. Has anyone raised their redline? 6 cyc. or V8?
I do not think it would be that dangerous...
The engines are obviously overbuilt...would think would be a cheap upgrade interms of performance....
Any thoughts....?

Any such luck with the V8?
We dont have as many upgrades available
Wouldnt need much (maybe up to 6500), to see a sizeable difference in overall torque band performance.

Im not sure how much power the 1UZ is going to make up there with stock cams and so on. It starves in the upper RPM range with a stock setup. I used to rev my LS into the mid sixes by just shifting manually. It sounded nice, that’s for sure

Yeah, they've gone higher...
Direct quote from the site: http://www.1uzfe.com/
"It might appear to be a low perf. set up: A single cam gear drives the intake cam, which in-turn drives the exhaust cam on an "anti backlash" gear. The only adjustment to make here is to check the lash and replace shims as necessary. The genius in this system is the simplicity. No rockers or followers. The cam rides directly on the shim that sits on a lightweight cup that presses down on the valve. It gets even better. The cup sits in a reinforced well; built to minimize movement. This technology is common in high revving race bike engines. In Australia and New Zealand, the 1UZ is commonly raced in dirt classes and can rev out to 11,000rpm."

Ive hear that the MSD 6AL has a soft touch rev limiter feature which can maybe raise the redline. Just switch out the pill to the one you want to use and Bam! I would confirm if that is true if someone (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! ) would cooperate and show the an install diagram for the MSD 6AL on the SC300s!

1UZ-FE's have too small of a intake valve lift and duration to make any sense in raising the redline.
if you look at the torque curves on a 1UZ-FE dyno you'll see the sharp drop in torque curve after 5000rpm and far lower at 6000rpm to make any sense in raising it. I think at 6500-7000rpm it would already become counterproductive.

How long have you been running 7500? No problems?

Raising the Rev Limit on the V8 who be going backwards on a stock car. Look at Dyno sheets, both Modded and unmodded. The car stops making Peak HP at about 5600 to 5800 Rpms and lower. Runs out of Breath with stock Cams and stock Valves. You would just be putting more stress on the motor to lose HP past peak. There is no gain with Stock cams and vavles only a loss !
