Default The sound of your SC

Hey guys well I have been a long time member who doesn't really say much but am wondering how your SC's sound 300 or 400? Any sound bytes or clips would be appreciated..also my SC300 is completely stock but sounds like an animal(I mean that in a good way!!). I've had a numerous amount of people ask me what type of exhaust I have..and they're baffled when I say it's stock. My brothers friend has a 92 SC300 as well and it sounds nothing like mine...I'll post up a sound byte as soon as I record it.thanks guys! Also,I'm glad it doesnt sound like a 350Z/G35...I personally hate the warbly sound they emit..

that is very weird. When my SC was completely stock, it was quiet as a hummingbird....well not that quiet per se. You get my drift.

Anywho, it sounds like you have an exhaust leak somewhere. For sure that does not sound stock.

the first one sounds like a video game =)
mine sounded similar after i cut out the resonators. Back the mic up a little bit and youll get better sound quality.

Ihad it checked out..not that I'm dissapointed with the sound..but just in cse they said there was nothing wrong with it.....when I bought the car it was a little quieter. I had tips welded on butI doubt some tips did that.I still want an exhaust though

Boy, that sure doesn't sound stock!!!!! i don't think exhaust leak though since I'm assuming mic was located at the tips? Did you purchase car used? I'm inclined to think that someone that had the car before you did some kind of exhaust work. Are the resonators still there? Perhaps the cats were hollowed? Maybe even a header was installed and bolted up to the stock exhaust piping?? (why anyone would do that, I have no idea). But are you ABSOLUTELY sure it is stock??
Regardless, sounds mean as hell!!!!!

Thanks mkorsu,I did purchase the car used but sounded alot less quiet ,to the best of my automotive knowledge everything is stock..i'll post up picsof my engine bay and maybe you guys can spot something I didn't. All I have are tips but I'm sure thats not it,as I broke the car in,the exhaust tone gradually got deeper. I bought it with 60,000 miles and now it has 127,000.Every mechanic says the car is healthy and there is nothing wrong and I should just be happy with it..I am but was wondering if anybody else's SC sounded similiar thus the topic.

Definitely sounds like the resonators are gone.
Check the exhaust piping around the rear axle.
There should be a 'can' on each pipe right in front of the axle.
If the resonators are not there....they're not there.
