It would be the problem. Let's start from the begining. Remove the tranny, pop out the rear main seal. Remove all the 10mm bolts at that hold the rear main seal plate. Get a flat head screwdrive, pry around the edge and remove the plate. Be very carefull with the plate it's made out of aluminum(you don't want to break it). Clean off the old Fipg, Apply Fipg through the plate, just put enough. Install rear main seal plate and then rear main seal. Hopefully this will help you out. Let me know how's everything goes.

Wow thanks man, so I install the plate before installing the new seal?
Wyatt, I plan to have a shop do this repair for me in the near future as I plan to also have them install a new tranny mount and Lextreme TC at that time. The price I was quoted was $550 for rear main seal, oil pan gasket, install new TC and tranny mount. Of course I'll bring in the TC and tranny mount myself. Let us know how this goes...

Good deal man, hopefully it wont come down to bringing it to a shop, Ive never ever brought any if my cars to a shop before, and having them do this job would force me to take the money out of my college fund
Thanks for the support man. Oh yea one more thing, JPI how flush foes the seal have to be to the block, or should it be pushed in a little bit?
PS. If any one wants a pictorial on how to drop the manual tranny and do a clutch, just ask.,..
You need to have the rear main seal flush. Don't push it in too far. This job should take about 6 hrs and 2.5hrs for the pros . If you run into problem, you have my shop number call me anytime. Good luck.
