I have been reading a lot of threads on making my SC quicker. I have come upon lots of cl members that say new exhaust and air intake will not give you more power just worse gas millage and louder tone. I understand the louder tone and if you get on it a lot i understand the worse gas millage but why is the stock air box better? I have never heard of this for any other car.

I guess it depends on the exhaust you get. Before my car used to give around 16 mpg. After my catback exhaust, I drive it much harder yet it can still yeild 22-24 mpg. I have thought about the BFI many times but I love my stock intake tone too much. The exhaust will give more of a deep rumble rather than a loud obnoxious sound heard from ricers.

Oh forgot to add... the car is MUCH quicker on its feet. Only thing I have done is catback exhaust and my 0-60 time is about 6.8 secs last time I checked. Not bad for a stock car,eh?

Why?
Tuning bro, gotta get the air/fuel mix right.
Some timing advance will help out too.
That's the part I dislike about modding, the time spent where the car runs crappy becuase it's not dialed in yet.
