Default Any SF Bay Area meets going on?

I'm interested in purchasing a 1998+ GS300 with the hopes of turbocharging it eventually. I just started researching this, and I want to know if there are any meets coming up that I could attend and talk to a few of you about your cars.

None that I know of. Some of the get-togethers are very impromptu. Some of the guys got together to go driving and karting a couple of weeks ago. Nothing "official", upcoming planned yet though.

We just had about a half dozen meets in the last two months. I think most of us are burnt out for now, although there was a Norcal end-of-summer meet in the works (~end of August).

Is there anyone in the SJ area that has done an Aristo 2JZ-GTE with VVTi swap into a 98+ GS3 by themselves and wouldn't mind sharing their experience with me?

I like the 2nd gen GS a lot and I'd like to eventually get 500+rwhp with an auto tranny. I've owned a 6-speed 94 Supra for the last 4 years and I'm tired of the negative attention it attracts from a lot of people on the streets, so I'm looking for a "sleeper" car that has all the luxury and comfort of a Lexus, and I think the GS3 is the best platform for my goals.

I've got no experience with pulling engines or transmissions - the most I did on the Supra was to externally remove the front main seal, so I'm wondering if I have what it takes to carry out the swap on my own.

I'm also interested in attending that prolexperformance grand opening to see what other options I have for getting to the horsepower goal.

If anyone has any suggestions for me, please feel free to PM me.
