Wow thanks for that lot of info driftgirl! I was thinking about going through southern Illinois and then across up to Missoula, and then pretty much just straight across. My only issue is ive been through missoula on a snowmobile excursion and it didn't look to lowered car friendly, and the roads were all pretty much solid ice. so I might be going the long way around the south and up california. any thoughts on that?

side note: drift girl, where in Buckhead do you have a place and why haven't we seen you at the SELOC meets lol. we need all the Lex support we can get in Atlanta

Just because no one else has said this...do not move to the White Center area unless you want your car stolen. That's like the only place I'd seriously avoid. lol

Seattle people are pretty chill. I think you will like it.

It's where I grew up

It's unincorporated King County between West Seattle and Burien.

See if Lexus of Bellevue is hiring (I work there). I know one of our Senior Techs is leaving at the end of the month to pursue more education and a career change.

Seattle is definitely the nicest place in the country if you can stand the 300 days of clouds. The 65 days of sun, there is no better place to be. Winters are mild. Fall and Spring last for 5 months each. People FREAK out over even a hint of snow fall. ACTUAL snow shuts down the entire region for days (I'm talking 1-2 inches!) If you're at all outdoorsy, there's TONS of stuff to do all year round. Cost of living is fairly high here but, as stated, wages are higher too. Living in Seattle/Bellevue is pricey but if you go 20-30 mins north or south (east is a mountain, west is the Puget Sound...), it's very reasonable. Emissions is a piece of cake. As long as you have Cats on your car, you'll be fine. If you're looking for a job as a mechanic, Boeing is hiring TONS of people right now. The pay might be a little low to start (takes about 5 years to max out) but mechanics make upwards of $100,000/year with all the OT plus unrivaled benefits.
