no matter how disappointing the meet was, still mad props to Ethan for setting everything up. Without him, we won't even have a disappointing meet at all.

Just need to be aware:

1) Next meet, absolutely CLUBLEXUS members only. No Camry club, no Solara Forums, no Corolla Kids, No IS300.net (unless they're on CL also). They ruined it all, seriously. Next meet, we don't need to stop them from coming but their cars will not be displayed. Taking up 3/4 of the parking lot.

2) name tags are must. Last carson meet we had them and they helped greatly.

First of all, I would like to thank Ethan and all the others that helped put the meet together. Now for my opinon of the actual meet:

1) It looks to me like the Carson meet has grown to the point that it is no longer a good idea to have a combined Toyota and Lexus meet. However, anyone that read the flyer that was posted all over CL should have known that this was going to be a combined meet. Therefore, I don't understand the disappointment with the number of Toyota drivers in attendance. In the future perhaps the meets should be separate.

2) It would have been nice to have had more food and drink. The food and drink went really fast. Again, I think the bigger than expected turnout had a lot to do with this.

3) The raffle was not quite what I expected. I don't think it is unreasonable to charge a small emission in order to raise money for more/better prizes.

4) In the future when we have large meets, it may be a good idea to have members RSVP. That way, you will have a better idea of how much food and drink is needed and it may also make it possible to have designated parking for the different models.

5) It was pretty hot, but living inland I guess I'm sorta used to it...don't think there is anything we could do about this with the exception of moving the meet closer to the coast.

Overall, I had a great time at the meet. I was fun seeing some of the guys that I met before once again and also meeting a few new members. A few people have voice displeasure that there was more of other models than GS's...think how many more of those cars are sold. I really think the GSs and ISs were represented pretty well...I would like to have seen more SCs, but I think most SC driver's are into that sorta thing.

Just my .02

me and indypwr had the only first Gen GS there and they didn't even let us bring it in to represent. Indypwr did bring his GS in at the end of the show for like 30 minutes though.

Yes, Cong was definately in the house. In fact, he and I were parked right next each other with LXOGOOD's (Ken) silver GS next to us also...2 silver GS with chrome LSportlines and 1 with chrome BR-5s...I thought it was pretty cool display If only we could gotten Allan up in the lot with his silver LSportlines...

No, that is not me with the blue emblems. I don't who it belongs to but it had the full RMM kit.

i Say thank you to Static 911 and most of all to Steve at Carson Toyota.

I don't know why people like to complain so much? So what if there were other cars there. It was a TOYOTA/LEXUS Meet...at a Toyota dealership. Most of all it was FREE and people had to work very hard for what it was worth.

The food was there for about an hour and a half. It went very quickly, if three tables full of Subway Submarine sandwiches is not good enough then I don't know what would be. No matter how much food you have, it will always go quickly. It's not a resteraunt buffet folks. I wasn't even expecting free food to begin with, again thank you to Steve and Carson Toyota.

I forked out $300 worth of product for the Raffle, I don't see any return on investment for that. If people are just going to complain about the prizes then I'll know for future reference to save my inventory for sales.

I'm sorry I'm venting, and I'm not bashing or flaming peoples opinions. I'm just an optimist and I hate to see people shooting down on something that was done for the Toyota/Lexus community that didn't have to be done in the first place.

I have to agree with Swifty...I don't really understand some of the replies I'm reading. If anyone read the Carson Meet flyer it said it was hosted by Toyota & Lexus. What makes a car meet fun is too see a variety of cars fixed up. I like to see Celica's hooked up and Supra's with 600HP. The problem with the was lack of PARKING SPACE period. If everyone was able to get there car in and show it off, there wouldn't be so many negative replies. Everyone would have had a great time walking around. To seperate the Toyota's from Lexus at the next meet would be a mistake, IMO.We just need a bigger area to do this next year.

Cong & I had to get there around 9:30am to get a spot up front. Even when we pulled in, the Celica boys were already lining up there cars. Anyway, lets work out the flaws and keep improving every year.

BTW: I was thinking we should have this 2x a year. Maybe around March (Lexus) and in Aug (Toyota&Lexus)...

First of all if you read the flyer it did say "Toyota/Lexus Meet" Now if you are gonna invite people and start *****in later about how whack it was then why even bother.

I can bet that any other forums have no problem meeting with any other Toyota/Lexus. I agree on some points:It was hot, not enough food, raffle was OK, but other than that it was an OK meet. But for some odd reason "ClubLexus" doesnty think so. Were you mad that you didnt get any free stuff

And I quote from Static911: "Food provided: Yes, on a first come, first serve basis. Please respond in this thread if you are in so we can get an accurate count to see how much food to purchase"

Need proof well here you goOriginal Thread

And this comment about "you dont need to stop others from coming but their cars cant be displayed" ..............WTF is that all about? Seriously think about it, what makes you or any other so special?

I would like to have seen more SCs, but I think most SC driver's are into that sorta thing.
Hey Ken, my SC wasn't enough for you to look at! j/k

I too do not understand a lot of the complaints I am reading on this thread. Ethan and everyone else involved in putting this meet together should be proud of their efforts. Without them there would be no meet in the first place. I thought it was nice seeing old faces and meeting a lot of new ones regardless if they were Toyota or Lexus owners. Remember folks, all of our cars are Toyota's deep down anyways! If we were in Japan this would have been a TOYOTA show...no Lexus there, so I don't understand the bashing of toyota owners. Yeah it was hot and there wasn't enough space for all the people, but overall I had a great time!

From the amount of people in attendance, maybe the next meet should be in the form of HIN. Attendance fees could be charged (start small at first...maybe $5), a nicer venue (not to say that Carson was bad), more food and drink and maybe throw in some other features kinda like HIN (dj's, models, etc...). I don't know maybe we're not there yet, but from the turnout of the carson meet, I think we can start planning a more large scale meet. This can be a toyota/lexus show or just a lexus show (which would be MUCH smaller...remember HIN started out small and now they are all over the place). I think there is definitely an interest out there and if anyone would like to start planning something like this I would love to help!

We never invited. We started the meet, then other clubs wanted to come.

Hot weather, not enough food, ok raffle, those are not the point. I wouldn't be mad if we take all those away, and take Toyota cars away also.

Yes food is on first come first serve basis. But hey the last Carson meet I went late also and they STILL had enough food for everyone.

So in the end what's the problem? Toyota cars all over the place. Since last meet we had no Toyota cars (only a few Solaras) and it was good, this meet we had more Toyotas than Lexus and it was screwed, obviously that's the problem.

And what makes our Lexus so special? I dunno, maybe because it was supposed to be a LEXUS meet.

Not trying to bash on Toyotas, but we seriously need to separate the meets. We dont' want import showoff, we want ClubLexus meet.

Chill out man.
