I just bought a 2016 NX 200t and the tailgate sub is blown. I'd like to replace it as soon as possible but I can't seem to find the specs for the factory sub and don't want to risk buying one that's incompatible with the factory amp. Anyone know the factory specs for this and/or have recommendations for a good aftermarket replacement?

Pioneer makes suitable ones but you may end up doing custom bracket to fit it in. They go lengths to not allow non stock driver in there.

About the only spec you need is 2 Ohm. Of course, size. But it will be shallow free air sub.
I'd not be wasting energy on replacing it, to be honest. Rather do in trunk bottom one.

I have tried four different subs in the tailgate. They are too heavy for it. Get a Pioneer 8" sub enclosure box and buy an amp and sub. Put it under the rear seat. Pull up the bench (takes some force, it is attached in two spots). Pull up with your hands. Remove the plastic anchors by pushing down the middle of them. Reset them for reinstall. Carefully remove the front piece(lift straight up after popping out side pieces). The enclosure fits right under the bench. Secure it. I replaced all speakers. Huge improvement. Get an LC2i to improve signal from head unit. The JBL BassHub is also an alternative. Fits in the spare. Ditch the foam piece that fits in the spare.
