i just want to share my JL Powered Microsub. Not taking any of trunk space, looking oem.
Interesting. pricey, but interesting.
Don't cut any holes in cover. No need to to start with, as bass is not directional and needs no opening plus, with cover, the rest of the under the cover space will become a speaker enclosure. Also, cut a hole - reduce vehicle value. Buyer to come may not appreciate it.
What did you use for drop down? OEM tailgate sub or else?
I just removed one of the left driver side oem plastics bins from the trunk area, next to the spare tire.
after I finish the installation, i placed the “trunk cover + trunk all weather rubber mat on top of the microsub.
Sound is great, just the right amount of bass, no need to make any modifications to any parts of the NX.
I secured the box, using regular foam, almost the same that is holding the spare tire in placed.
I was hoping to get some more information and or feedback on the installation of this subwoofer? I own a 2015 NX and am thinking of getting one of these.

I think this is a great upgrade, you could pop into a local Georgia JL Audio dealer and I bet they will walk that box out to your car to test the fit.
One thing to keep in mind, from the original post and picture of the microsub the owner has removed a plastic panel where that sub sits, this panel forms the platform for the trunk floorboard, now I'm sure the sub itself will now become the platform of the floorboard so it might not be an issue for you. Another option, you could measure the round opening in the foam panel that sits on the spare tire, then giigle search "Spare tire subwoofer box". Plenty of options and the local Car Audio dealers will most likely have the best answers, then take that info and run with it in your own direction.

I have this subwoofer on my Honda CR-V, it definitely will rock your world, may not rock the cars next to you but a nice sub to fill the car's interior, if it sounds good in my CR-V i'm sure it would sound even better in the NX, my install has a bass **** on my left side of my dash if sometimes you may find the bass to be too excessive.
