Default 40K on my NX

I know Lexus recommends getting a brake fluid flush and spark plugs changed at this mileage but my car drives fine, gets good MPG, and my driving is nearly 70 percent freeway driving. Would I be doing any harm if I don't get these services done now? The spark plugs on my last car were replaced at 120K and even then they were pretty clean when they were taken out.

Hmm, Lexus service did a brake fluid flush on mine at 32K kilometers, I argued it wasn't necessary and they refunded that cost but did not ever actually admit that they had performed that service too early.

I inspected my brake fluid this weekend and it looks super clean. This is why I am hesitant to drop 119 bucks for this "flush" that I feel is not needed.

Only YOU know how your car actually performs. Dealer just "recommends" to do these because the manual says so. If it is my car and it works as good as new...then I won't do it.

I'm in Northern CA and while on a recent trip to Reno, decided to have my first service done. The advisor told me that CA is the only state that requires the 40K spark plug change due to emissions. Wondering if anyone else has heard this.

Being in Southern California myself this is interesting to hear. From what I hear the spark plug job is nearly a 500 dollar ordeal at the dealership which I don't mind spending if absolutely necessary but if it's something that can wait then no need to do right now.

Thought this was curious to change your spark plugs so soon. It looks like its required to maintain the Emission Control Warranty

I know it's the holidays, but maybe you can inquire about this at Lexus to keep this warranty
