Default Rare Cross Traffic Alert is no longer working!!!

Hi guys!

Today, I just realized that when I back the car up, the rare cross traffic alert warning sound is no longer work. I am not sure when it stopped working. I pulled into another parking lot, and I tried again when there are cars passing, the warning is not showing up at all. I checked my BSM, it is on too. Very confused about it. Anyone having the same problem or know how to fix it?

Thanks a lot!

The switch where you adjust side mirrors, make sure you select left or right. Try again. Let me know

BSM main switch
Pressing the switch turns the system on or off. When the switch is set to on, the switch’s
indicator illuminates and the buzzer sounds. This switch is for both Blind Spot Monitor
function and Rear Cross Traffic Alert function.

It would seem if BSM is working, it should, too. Do you get the flashing mirror indicators for cross-traffic? Could simply be a buzzer issue.

Be aware that Park Assist (small disc sensors on the F & R bumpers) is a Proximity Sensor,
when an object is within the 2 - 5 foot range it chimes until either you or the object move apart.

The BSM/RCTA is a motion sensor (hidden sensors in rear fenders), When an object moves into
its 5 - 65 foot range it chimes. If it stops moving but is still near you the warning ceases.

I thought that's purely for the "mirror tilt when in reverse" function and nothing to do with RCTA?

Yeah the BSM is working for sure. and Mirror doesn't flash for cross traffic at all, which it is weird. since it used to work when i am at parking lot backing up. I will go try different things and hope it work again. Thanks for all information.

Yeah it used to work like that whenever i back up in the busy parking lot. and suddenly not working which I am very confused. Since it is a hidden sensors in rear fender, i am wondering maybe problem is the sensor. I will give a try of other way and hope it works

The switch for the side mirrors, switch to one side to make this works (left or right does not matter)

That's just for the tilt down feature in reverse. It's not connected to RCTA.
